Making a whistle is like writing a poem. My son, Jacob, has been interested in folk music since a long time. After one of the gigs we've visited, he said: "can't we just build our own whistle?" Aleia iacta est! So my whistle adventure begun. The struggle to harness the magic of a simple six hole plastic tube has been eagerly supported by brilliant musicians (check our links!) with testing and careful advice. Making a whistle is a trial of patience, a constant search of ideas. When nothing helps a whistle - sometimes You just have to speak to it. While listening to all the recordings performed by Ewelina and Witek I can now say: -It was worth it! |

Traditional Irish music has been there in my life since primary school. It was then, when I first had a dream, which came true after more than ten years - to play and create and enjoy more and more folk music. To begin my journey though the world of music I needed an instrument. My first whistle was far from perfect, but I was far from giving up. One day my dad came to me and said: "We've got work to do!". He took me to his workshop and presented sketches and concepts for a new whistle. It needed hundreds of hours so the first Goldfinch could leave his nest. Dreams come true. |
